Veles Capital Research Report Following the Herd: Why AI Isn't Reaching the P&L
Executive summary
AI is making people more productive, but it is not making most companies more profitable. The 2026 research from McKinsey, BCG, PwC, Deloitte and Info-Tech is consistent: 80% of people say AI improves their own productivity, yet only 37% of companies report any EBIT impact, and just 6% earn 5% or more of EBIT from AI. Neither figure moved in a year, while AI spending more than tripled to 3.3% of revenue. In controlled studies individuals complete tasks 25–40% faster; across whole organisations, measured gains fall to around 10%.
